The effect of greenhouse gas emissions has caused many different changes within the worlds environment. After reading this page, it is clear to see that all of these changes are connected and can lead back to one another. These astonishing changes show how powerful greenhouse gases are and
Global Temperatures Rise
The rises in global temperatures is directly caused from the amount of greenhouse gas molecules in the earth's atmosphere. The more greenhouse gas molecules, the more heat is trapped on earth. Since 1981, each year has been much warmer than the last and this trend does not have any signs of changing. As the temperature rises, it causes many events in nature.

Icecaps Melting
The warming of the earth has caused the Icecaps to melt. Between 2002-2005, Antarctica lost about 152 cubic kilometers of ice. This phenomenon has added a very high amount of water to our oceans. The Arctic is home to many different species of animals and the melting of ice caps causes habitats to be destroyed and could possibly lead to the extinction of some species.

Sea Levels Rise
The warming of the earth and the melting of the ice caps has led to the rise of sea levels. When the ice caps melt, large amounts of water are added to the oceans. Since the world is continuing to warm, this water becomes warm and starts to expand. The displacement of water causes many negative effects within our world. Habitats are destroyed, disease is more easily spread, properties and homes are damaged, and many more. Sea levels have risen about 17 centimeters in the past century; however, the rate of increase in the past decade is about double of the last century.
